The NESWA team are delighted to confirm that we have set up a workshop on 10th July around Student Admissions and the experience of students with additional needs, both during the admissions process and whilst on placement.
The session will draw upon a report produced by research conducted by Tara Peters, who conducted a student survey as well as looked into what information was readily available for students looking to apply or enrolling on a social work programme in the North East. We will also have contributions from Helen Casey (Open University) looking at ways we can ‘widen access’ to social work training and we will hear from students with additional needs on their own personal experiences.
The workshop is scheduled to last from 9:30-12:30 and will be a great opportunity to meet colleagues across social work and share good practice. The session is taking place at The Workplace, Newton Aycliffe, Co. Durham.
If you would like to attend, please see the below flyer for further details on how to register. Please note that places are strictly limited for this workshop so please contact us quickly to avoid disappointment.
