Siobhan Maclean
Siobhan has been a Practice Educator for over 20 years and has worked with more than 150 students in that time. She also delivers training, workshops, and publishes tools and resources for social workers, Practice Educators. Siobhan’s work is highly regarded in her field.

Emma Lewell-Buck MP
Emma is the Member of Parliament for South Shields, and is the first female MP in South Shields. She is now Shadow Minister for Children & Families. Emma studied at Northumbria University and then completed her Masters in Social Work at Durham University. She has worked in child protection as a qualified social worker.

Dr Kim Gilligan

Kim is a Principal Lecturer in Teaching and Learning at Sunderland University and has been delivering the NESWA module ‘Preparing to Teach on Social Work programmes’. Kim is interested in the concepts of mentoring and coaching as well as models of teaching and learning.

Lilian Adani – Practice Educator

Lilian is a social worker in an adult learning disabilities team. Originally from Zimbabwe, Lilian will offer a perspective about the needs of BME students on placement.

Jill Yates – London South Bank University

Combined PEPS course and innovative placements.
