Developing Service User Involvement in Social Work Education at the University of Sunderland

We are trying to increase and improve the involvement of service users, carers, and people with lived experience in social work education.

There are lots of opportunities for you to be involved in:

• Student recruitment and interviews
• Teaching student social workers
• Assessment processes
• Programme management

We would welcome you to attend an initial introductory meeting at Sunderland University where we will be discussing your ideas about how this might work, what areas of interest you have, how to make sure you receive ongoing training, support and remuneration for your involvement, keeping up to date with developments in social work and agreeing roles and responsibilities.

The meetings are on:

Thursday May 23rd 10.30 am – 12 pm in the Reg Vardy Building (Room tbc)
OR
Thursday 30th May 3pm – 5pm in the Reg Vardy Building (Room tbc)

All participants will receive a Voucher on the day for their attendance and all reasonable travel and carers expenses will also be covered.
